Rubicon Health Consulting was founded by Andy Whiting in 2010. Andy is a qualified accountant and MBA graduate with Board level experience with public and private healthcare providers. A specialist in mental health services; business development; service redesign and efficiency schemes; business cases; finance and marketing, Andy has 31 years’ experience of working in healthcare. Andy has an in depth knowledge of strategy development and has developed a niche supporting health providers develop a range of strategies ranging from clinical to estate, IM&T and financial. Andy is particularly skilled at translating models of care into implementable plans.
Rubicon does not employ consultancy staff. Instead we operate on an associate consultant basis meaning we use only the best consultants: those best suited to each client’s unique needs. Our approach to staffing each project is to agree with the client which consultants from amongst our associate pool, best meet the need. By using this associate model we keep our costs low and remove the need to sell junior staff simply to cover fixed salary costs. Furthermore, we only work with associates who have reached a senior level within their chosen profession and who have extensive industry experience within UK health and social care. All of our associates also have extensive management consulting experience. We believe this approach is your best guarantee of quality.
Rubicon deliberately keeps its associate pool to less than 50 individuals as this means that the teams we bring together for each project consist of individuals who have regularly worked together in the past. However, we are ambitious in our growth ambitions and recognise that our associates may not always have the full range of skills we need, we therefore, constantly seek out new associates and alliances with niche consultancy firms.
