Last autumn Rubicon and Consilium Strategy worked on a business case for the ICR and Royal Marsden for the acquisition of one of the world’s first MR-Linacs. The MR Linac combines two technologies – an MRI scanner and a linear accelerator – to precisely locate tumours, tailor the shape of X-ray beams in real time, and accurately deliver doses of radiation even to moving tumours. George Osborne has just announced a grant of £10m towards the acquisition.
